County equivalent count is misleading -- CT sort of double-counted
[edit]As I understand it, the counties in CT have technically been retired and replaced with "Planning Regions". The count here instead seems to imply that they are additional. Many sources list 3143 counties in the US states (with DC), instead of 3,152. I think that this is very confusing, given that, in all other cases, they are bona fide equivalents rather than replacements (e.g., boroughs or parishes). 130.132.173.188 (talk) 18:52, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
