Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Taboo articles

Wikipedia:Taboo articles is a useless and extremely incomplete list of topics that are considered "taboo" by "some people". Should we include everything from pork to goatse.cx? People know what's accepted in their culture, and the articles can explain about taboos in others. Guanaco 17:55, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. The whole idea of what is "taboo" is inherently POV. What is taboo in one culture versus another is best discussed in articles on the subjects in question. Antandrus 21:47, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. This article is not really about taboo subjects - there's no such thing on Wikipedia. It's a list of articles that are controversial or offensive to some. If there is a legitimate need for such a list, I am willing to listen to arguments in favour of it, but I will not support the article's current title. Kevyn 22:01, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. One *might* argue for a page along the lines of List of offensive topics (although if anything, it should probably be a category), but this should go. -- Schnee 22:15, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Inherently POV. And why's it in the Wikipedia: namespace? — Gwalla | Talk 23:18, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Delete: Freud told us that taboo creates fetish. If we talk about our taboos, how are we ever going to find anything titilating again? Preserve the mystery. If they're really taboos, we don't dare list them. Geogre 00:54, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)

- Delete. Taboos not only vary across cultures but across time as well. "Cunt" used to be the everyday, standard word for "vagina". Livajo 12:33, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)

- Delete - funniest thing is that the list of taboo subjects all already have Wikipedia articles about them... :) - Tεxτurε 17:24, 26 Aug 2004 (UTC)
