Why is there a box for the sex pistols when the only (tenuous) link is that he was possibly going to replace someone? Shouldn't the box just be removed/edited to remove as he is not connected...

Henry VIII descendant

Yes, no direct descedents, but wasn't there a marriage to the Pole family through one of Henry VIII's cousins and didn't they change their name to the Tudor-Pole famile and isn;t Edward a part of that family?--Dr who1975 21:56, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Henry VIII has no known descendants. All of his acknowledged children, including his only acknowledged illigetimate son, died without issue. The children of Mary Boleyn may have been Henry VIII's, but this is disputed. Even if they were, neither used the surname 'Tudor'. As for the Poles, that doesn't work either. The Pole family were descended from the Plantagenets, not the Tudors, and they did not double-barrell their name to 'Tudor-Pole'. Sounds like a pop-star trying to make himself more interesting, but there is no historical basis for it. I think we need a source, or it should be removed. That rumour was added on 2 May 2007 by 194.80.32.12 (talk · contribs · WHOIS), who had several reprimands for vandalism around the time though not in relation to this particular instance, and hasn't been since 5 days later. I think whoever it was just wanted to start a false rumour for some reason. (Interesting story: Jade Goody's article was at least twice vandalised to state that she had died, before she actually died.) -- Smjg (talk) 00:34, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

DOB

The only Edward Tudor-pole listed in the England & Wales Birth Index was registered in the fourth quarter of 1954 in Lambeth, making his year of birth, age and place of birth as given in this article incorrect. Kmitch87 (talk) 21:04, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

Nickname

It is a commonplace in popular culture (and no doubt circulated by the named individual himself, for obvious purposes) that the reason for the band's name derives from a teenage nickname of "Tent-Pole", from the assertion that he possessed (and presumably still possesses, allowing for geriatric shrinkage) a sufficiency of erectile flesh to hold up a tent while in a recumbent position, without requirement of any other supporting props.
