How to make a new article
[edit]Hey - I saw you left a message on User:-- April's talk page about making new pages. To make a new page, just type in the article name you want to make into the "search" box. If the page doesn't exist, there will be a link for you to click on where you can create the page you want. For editing experiments, try using the Wikipedia:Sandbox page.
If you need more help, feel free to leave a message on my talk page! Also, check out Wikipedia: List of administrators - these are people who tend to have worked on Wikipedia for a while, and should be able to answer any other questions you might have. Oh, one more thing...You can type in 4 tildes (~) in a row to sign with your user name and date.
Welcome to Wikipedia! Have fun! HappyCamper 00:17, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Talk pages and polymer chemistry
[edit]Hey! A nice tip about talk pages - if you want to leave a message for someone, you can leave a message on their talk page by clicking on the "discussion" tab at the top. Beside the "edit this page" tab there's a little plus sign. Click on this, and you'll get another page where you get to type in your subject and your message. Saves the hassle of typing lots of -- signs and using HTML tags :-)
If you're interested in adding articles for chemistry, feel free to check out Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chemistry. To watch this page, click on the "watch" tab at the top. If you do this, every time a change is made to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chemistry, you'll be notified if you click on "my watchlist" at the top. You can watch any page that interests you this way! Also, feel free to make good edits to any pages you come across. There are some useful links to the left of your window that you might find useful. HappyCamper 01:46, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Stitchy. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Stitchy~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
