In Russian mythology Zhar Ptitsa is a falcon in flames. I have no idea how it can be connected with a whirlwind and I've never heard anything about a belt around the neck. I don't think Rarog and Zhar Ptitsa (Fire Bird) have anything in common.--Grigoryev 06:49, 12 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
The proposed merger with Zhar Ptitsa seems a bad choice. Firstly, Raróg was one of Slavic deities long before Russia was formed. Also, it is a part of mythology and not of folk lore. Finally, are the two really related? Halibutt 07:50, August 18, 2005 (UTC)
