lots of stuff but explains nothing
[edit]There's a heck of a lot of material here, but the article never really explains what an "order" is. Kinda basic info glaringly missing. Saying they are "a category of Catholic religious institutes" is absolutely useles unless you already know what an order is. That they're distinguished by vows is similarly un-useful. still needs improvement
[edit]while many of the previously mentioned issues have been resolved or improved, there is still a lot of work to do on this article! aspects such as the impact, history, and practices of religious orders should be expanded on Sawyer-mcdonell (talk) 18:21, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
Trappists founded in 1664
[edit]Mistake in the 2d chart. Trappists were established in 1664. (chart says 1098 which is for Cistercian) Zygcyb (talk) 22:24, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
- The problem is that the Annuario pontificio (which is cited as the source) says fro the Trappists "Fond 1098; riform. 1664" (founded 1098, reformed 1664). Noel S McFerran (talk) 23:23, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
- Trappists are Cistercians, reformed. So you are both right. Elizium23 (talk) 23:24, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
