User talk:Rafiki
Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- How to edit a page
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- If you're ready for the complete list of Wikipedia documentation, there's also Wikipedia:Topical index.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!
BTW, isn't it Sørlie?[1] :) 68.81.231.127 19:10, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the welcome; even though I haven't edited much here in Wikipedia, I'm admin of 2 Wiki sites using the wikimedia software, so I'm mostly familiar with the links you've posted ;)
- It is indeed Sørlie, if you want it to be entirely proper, but since quite a few have problems with non-English characters and all the (semi-)official websites use "Sorlie", I figured that to be most convenient. – Rafiki (talk) 13:09, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)
But user talk pages look lonely and forlorn without boilerplate at the top :). (According to Wikipedia:Special characters and meta:Help:Special characters, ø is just fine.) 68.81.231.127 16:25, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Hehe, indeed; it's always nice to start getting noticed. ;) As for using 'ø', I know it's OK to use it (as I've done in Østensjøvannet); it just seems to be the common way of referring to him on most American websites (e.g. at the official Iditarod site) that made me use it here too. Should be easily covered by having a redirect, perhaps? – Rafiki (talk) 08:27, 8 Mar 2005 (UTC)
